What it does
The Parser app extracts structured data from PDF files. It can return paragraphs, layout information, text, images, tables, bookmarks, and metadata in a machine‑readable format.
Inputs and limits
- Input: a single PDF file (any size supported by the Documentize engine).
- The CLI plugin reads the PDF from a task‑specific input folder and writes results to the corresponding output folder.
- The web app accepts PDF uploads via the browser and processes them on the server; files are stored for 24 hours.
Web app
The page /app-prod/extract-data-from-pdf displays a heading “Extract data from PDF” and a sub‑heading “One tool for text, images, tables and metadata”. Users upload a PDF file and click the EXTRACT button. The service returns separate sections for extracted text, images, tables, hyperlinks, bookmarks and document metadata.
Command line (CLI)
The Documentize.Parser CLI plugin parses a PDF placed in the input folder of a task and writes a plain‑text result file (*.txt) to the output folder. No additional options are required beyond the task identifier.
